First, clip away all the accessive hairs at the sanitory part and also clip out an alignment of the style wanted to have. Then follow up with the cleaning procedures such as brushing, combing, bathing and air dry.

After cleaning up, trim all the remaining coats into a more refine condition and use a thinning shear scissors to cut the edges.

 Cut the top head into a rounded shape and be careful not to cut off their eye brows.

On the day of the practical exam, the candidates came earlier to draw the number that represent the poodle dog they will be grooming later. This is based on luck whether they will get a quiet or fierce poodle. Once everyone get their dog, they will start with normal cleaning steps such as bath, comb, brush and air dry their dog. These are important steps in pet grooming, if this step not done properly, it will affect the following cutting or clipping procedures.

Once everyone done the cleaning part, They will proceed to the most important part which determine their grooming skills, which are the cutting and clipping steps.

 Before the exam started, they were brief on the following criterias and procedures need to aware of:

• The process of cutting/trimming and clipping had to finish within two and half hour.
• Grooming tools such as comb and scissors cannot drop on the floor.
• Marks deducted if the dog fell from table.
• The way of handling the dog.( As dog will tend to struggle, see how to hold the dog)
• If you get an “inco-operate” dog (such as fierce and biting dog) and you manage to finish all your chores within the given time, extra marks will be given.
• Appearance marks will based on front, back, side and top view of the dog.
• If the dog feels happy after grooming, extra marks will be given too!!
